The sesson-based PvE survival game ICARUS has just announced their release date. It is much earlier than many players expected it to be, and it seems like a lot of stuff has changed since the last time ICARUS was under the microscope. Some changes might be a bit of a bummer, but there is a lot of exciting news as well, with also information about the price and DLC plans.

ICARUS Release Date! Price And DLC Plans

Icarus Release Date

Prior to all of this new information that RocketWerkz- Icarus’ developers had released, the general consensus was that the game was coming way more later, in 2022. However, that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore.

Icarus is set to release on 11th August 2021, with a later date in Australia, on the 12th August 2021. Nonetheless, the point is, we’re getting the game much earlier than expected.

Icarus Price

Previous year, in a couple of exclusive interviews and press releases, there were a lot of hints pointing out that Icarus will be completely free. But it seems like those plans are scrapped, as the game will come in at $29.99, depending on the location.

Not only that but, there will also be a couple of different editions of the game, like the deluxe version, which will include the next two chapters, or more specifically the next two DLCs.

For the deluxe edition, expect a bump in price substantially.

DLC Plans Icarus

Of course, the main talking point since the press release, was the DLC plans that RocketWerkz have planned for Icarus.

Taking on two DLCs of this size, as they seem to be of high caliber, is a bold move anyway you look at it. RocketWerkz seems to be very confident in Icarus because DLCs do tend to be a big investment in almost all games, especially of this size.

Dean Hall is the man behind DayZ, and now, he has left the development team for that, and individually launched the Icarus project. So, to say that expectations are high after the staggering success of DayZ, for Icarus is an understatement.

It seems like Icarus is shaping up to be an exceptional game, but until its official release, we will have to wait and see how things pan out.

Expectations are high, and while there were some unfortunate news about the game, there were also things which made players look forward to it.
