The Last of Us on HBO has finally ended its first season, and a lot of fans are looking forward to the sequel. We know that Abby is going to be a major player in the continuation of Ellie and Joel’s story, and series co-showrunner Neil Druckmann is teasing her arrival.

We don’t really get much details about Abby for the series, but anyone whose played the game knows that a muscular arm like that is likely to belong to Abby.

In the game, Abby is a member of the WLF (Washington Liberation Front), another faction in the post-apocalypse that’s located in Seattle. I’m not going to spoil anything about how Abby is significant to Joel and Ellie’s story, but fans should know that the seeds for her story have already been planted in the finale; and she is one formidable soldier in this cordyceps-infected world.

It has been confirmed by showrunners Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann that the events of Part II will be taking up multiple seasons, so a lot of fans are wondering just how the story will be told differently; especially with there being a significant time jump between Part I and Part II.

Some guess that we could get the flashback sequences in Part II as the major storyline of the second season, then have the main story in Seattle take place in Season 3. With Game of Thrones splitting Clash of Kings into two seasons, I think it’s possible they could also do the same for The Last of Us.

Then again, we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.

Catch the first season of The Last of Us now streaming on HBO Max. The Last of Us Part II is now playable for PlayStation 4|5.
