Pokemon Legends: Arceus wants the player to fulfill one of the franchise’s most famous lines, “Gotta catch ’em all,” as a part of the Survey Corps, whose job it is to learn everything possible about Pokemon in the Hisui region, modern-day Sinnoh. In addition, the legendary Arceus will give the player a personal quest to meet every Pokemon in Hisui.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus Ultimate Tangrowth Guide

This guide will discuss everything you need to know about Tangrowth!

Tangrowth

Tangrowth, the 96th Pokemon in the Hisuian Pokedex in Pokemon Legends: Arceus, is a Grass-type Vine Pokemon with a black body covered in a lot of blue vines, a pair of round eyes with very small black pupils peeking out from beneath the vines, a pair of flappy arms with three, red-tipped fingers, and a pair of stubby black feet with red rips.

According to its Pokedex entry, the game resembles a shrub due to the long vines draped around it. Additionally, Tangrowth will also swing bundles of vines around like arms, wrapping them around their prey to trap them.

Basic Information

Tangrowth is a Grass-type Pokemon, so it is weak (super effective) to the Bug-type, Fire-type, Flying-type, Ice-type, and Poison-type moves and resistant (not very effective) to Electric-type, Grass-type, Ground-type, and Water-type moves.

Tangrowth’s base stats are 100 HP, 100 Attack, 125 Defense, 110 Special Attack, 50 Special Defense, and 50 Speed, for a total of 535.

Tangrowth can be evolved from a Tangela after it learns the move Ancient Power.

Springy Mushrooms and Crunchy Salts are Tangrowth’s favorite foods. Tangrowth can be fed or diverted with these foods and berries, so it can be caught or battled without the player being seen.

When a Tangrowth is caught or defeated in the wild, the player can obtain a Seed of Mastery and an Exp Candy M.

Location

The player can go to this location to find a Tangrowth:

In the Crimson Mirelands: slightly north of Gapejaw Bog.

It is important to note that the Tangrowth that can be found in the location mentioned above is an Alpha Pokemon. This Alpha Tangrowth is a Level 45 Pokemon.

Tangrowth can be found in this location at all times of the day and in every weather condition.

Aside from this location, the player may encounter a group of Tangrowths in Massive Mass Outbreaks in the Crimson Mirelands.

Research Tasks

The following are the Research Tasks in Tangrowth’s Pokedex entry in Pokemon Legends: Arceus:

MultiplierResearch TaskObjectives
x2Number caught1/2/4/6/10
Number of alpha specimens you have caught1/2/3
Number defeated1/2/4/6/10
x2Number you have defeated with Poison type moves1/2/3
Times you have seen it use Double Hit1/3/6/12/25
x2Times you have seen it use Energy Ball1/3/8/20/40
Times you have seen it use a strong style move1/3/8/20/40
Times you have stunned it using items1/2/3
Number of different forms you have obtained2

A Pokemon’s Pokedex entry must get to Research Level 10 to be considered complete. Except when the Research Task objective has an x2 multiplier, which gives two Research Levels for accomplishing one, accomplishing a Research Task objective improves the Research Level of a Pokemon’s Pokedex entry by one.

The player will earn Research Points for completing Pokedex entries and finishing Research Task objectives. If a player accumulates enough Research Points, their Star Rank in the Galaxy Team will increase.

To quickly complete Tangrowth’s Pokedex entry, the player can catch the Alpha Tangrowth in the Crimson Mirelands two times, then use one in battle and Energy Ball three times. Performing these will fulfill the “Number caught” Research Task’s first and second objective to raise its Research Level by four thanks to its x2 multiplier, fulfill the “Number of alpha specimens caught” Research Task’s first and second objective to raise two Research Levels, and fulfill the “Times you have seen it use Energy Ball” Research Task to get four Research Levels, because of its x2 multiplier, and get to Research Level 10.
