One of Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu/Eevee’s differences from other Pokémon games is switching from Hidden Machines or HMs to Secret Techniques. Depending on your version of the game, your Pikachu or Eevee can learn these secret techniques to use outside of battle to help your trainer clear obstacles and travel all over the Kanto region. So, yes, basically, the HMs in the previous Pokémon games. In this guide, we will show you how to obtain the Sky Dash Secret Technique.
The Sky Dash Secret Technique allows your partner Pikachu or Eevee to carry and fly you to any city in the Kanto Region. Sky Dash can only be used in cities you have visited, so you will have to go on foot to cities you have not been to first. This Secret Technique is a fast travel function you acquire later on in the game.
The Sky Dash Secret Technique is this game’s equivalent of HM Fly. Every HM from the previous Pokémon games has been changed: Cut has been changed to the Chop Down Secret Technique, Surf has been changed to the Sea Skim Secret Technique, Strength to Strong Push Secret Technique, and, finally, Flash to Light Up Secret Technique.
Come Fly With Me, Pikachu/Eevee!
You can not get these abilities right from the get-go. To obtain the Sky Dash Secret Technique, you must first get to Celadon City and beat Team Rocket in their headquarters. To find their hideout, go inside the Rocket Game Corner and interact with a poster on the right side of the clerk. This will open a staircase on the opposite side of the clerk that leads to the basement. Go down the stairs, and now you are in the Team Rocket Hideout!
After beating Team Rocket, a guy with a machine attached to balloons beside him is just outside of the Rocket Game Corner. Talk to him, and he will teach your partner Pikachu or Eevee the Sky Dash Secret Technique!
To use the Sky Dash Secret Technique, press the X button to open the game menu and select Bag. Open the Town Map, choose the city you want to fly to, and press A to use Sky Dash! You can now instantly go to different cities in the Kanto Region!
Now that you and your Pikachu/Eevee can fly (while being cute), it is now easier to go to different parts of the Kanto Region and continue catching ’em all!
