In the game, the player and the player only gets to decide whatever they want to do: whether to defeat all the Pokemon Gyms, become the champion, and become the very best like no one ever was, to defeat the nefarious Team Star, to complete the Pokedex and catch them all, or to track down the mysterious new Titan Pokemon!

Pokemon Scarlet/Violet: Klawf The Stony Cliff Titan Guide

Here, we will talk about defeating the Titan Pokemon, which are part of the ‘Path of Legends’ quest line given by Arven, and in this guide, we will talk about defeating Klawf, the Stony Cliff Titan!

The Klawf the Stony Cliff Titan can be found in the northeast of South Province (Area Three), the first area east of Mesagoza City just before Artazon City (or found northwest of Artazon City or southwest of East Province Area One).

As the player would have to battle against Klawf the Stony Cliff Titan, it is worth noting that Klawf is a Rock-type Pokemon which means it has a weakness to Fighting-type, Grass-type, Ground-type, Steel-type, and Water-type moves (super effective) and resistance to Fire-type, Flying-type, Normal-type, Poison-type moves (not very effective).

Klawf, the Stony Cliff Titan, will use the following moves: Rock Smash, which is a physical Fighting-type move with 40 Power and 100 Accuracy that, aside from dealing damage, also has a 50% chance to lower the opposing Pokemon’s Defense by one stage, Rock Tomb, which is a physical Rock type move with 60 Power and 95 Accuracy that, aside from dealing damage, also lowers the opposing Pokemon’s Speed by one stage, Vise Grip, which is a physical Normal-type move with 55 Power and 100 Accuracy that has no additional effect aside from dealing damage, and Block, which is a Normal-type status move that prevents the opposing Pokemon from escaping and is an attack that never misses.

Aside from its moves, Klawf the Stony Cliff Titan has an Ability called Anger Shell which, when Klawf the Stony Cliff Titan’s HP reaches 50% or below, raises its Attack stat, Sp. Attack stat and Speed stat by one stage and lowers its Defense stat and Sp. Defense stat by one stage.

The player is recommended to use a Pokemon Level 16 and above against Klawf, the Stony Cliff Titan. If the player chose Sprigatito or Quaxly as a started Pokemon, then the player would have no problem using either of them to battle Klawf the Stony Cliff Titan as they are Grass-type and Water-type Pokemon, respectively, which moves are super effective against Rock-type Pokemon, like Klawf the Stony Cliff Titan. Additionally, the player’s Sprigatito or Quaxly would have already evolved to Floragato or Quaxwell at Level 16, which means that it has better stats.

These Pokemon that can be found early game can also be good against Klawf the Stony Cliff Titan: Marill (Water and Fairy-type), Psyduck (Water-type), Paldean Wooper (Poison and Ground-type), Diglett (Ground-type), Wiglett (Water type), Sunkern (Grass-type), Hoppip (Grass and Flying-type), Skiddo (Grass type), Shroomish (Grass type), and Makuhita (Fighting-type).

Unfortunately, the player will not be able to catch Klawf the Stony Cliff Titan while battling it and the only option is to defeat it. However, after that, when it is back to its regular form, you can find a Klawf in the area, which will have a special mark and the title “Former Titan” when battling it, which means that it is the actual Stony Cliff Titan but has reverted to its regular form. In this form, the player will now be able to catch it. If the player accidentally defeats the Klawf in this form, the Former Titan Pokemon will no longer appear in the area.

Battle 1

Upon approaching the Stony Cliff Titan from the side of the cliff, it will move up the cliff, which the player must follow by following the path up the cliff through the path on the right. Approach Klawf the Stony Cliff Titan up the cliff, and a cutscene will play where Klawf will finally notice the player, drop from the cliff wall, and start the battle with the player.

After almost defeating it, Klawf, the Stony Cliff Titan, will halt the battle and drop from the cliff’s edge. Follow it down the cliff to start another battle.

Battle 2

Upon approaching Klawf the Stony Cliff Titan at the bottom of the cliff, a cutscene will play where the Klawf will look at the side of the cliff, hit it hard to break it, pick up a Herba Mystica from the newly-broken side of the cliff, and eat it. Arven will then arrive and wonder if Klawf the Stony Cliff Titan will become even stronger after eating the herbs. The Klawf will face the player and Arven with an aura surrounding it and start another battle.

In this next battle, Klawf the Stony Cliff Titan’s HP will be full again, but this time, Arven and his Pokemon, Shellder, will help the player out.

After fully defeating Klawf the Stony Cliff Titan, it will revert to its regular form, and a cutscene will play where the player and Arven will enter the opening at the side of the cliff that the Klawf created to check for some Sweet Herba Mystica, which Arven will find inside. Arven will then thank the player and explain that Sweet Herba Mystica is good for gut health and helps digestion. After that, Arven will set up a picnic and make sandwiches with the Sweet Herba Mystica for himself and the player. To thank the player, Arven will also give the player a Titan Badge, which he made using a replica of Gym Badges, for defeating the Stony Cliff Titan.

While they are having a picnic, the player’s Koraidon or Miraidon (depending on which version the player is playing) will take an interest in the sandwich made with the Sweet Herba Mystica. Confirm on the prompt to give the player’s sandwich to Koraidon or Miraidon, and the player’s Koraidon or Miraidon will suddenly glow and will now be able to dash!

Now that the player has defeated Klawf the Stony Cliff Titan, the player is now one step closer to fulfilling the player’s Koraidon and Miraidon’s true potential and completing the ‘Path of Legends’ quest line!
