Red Band Trailer for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is Sexy and Violent

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is set to premiere in the next few weeks, and we have a red band trailer that showcases all the sex and violence we can expect from the world of Night City. Watch this:

The series tells a standalone, 10-episode story about a street kid trying to survive in Night City — a technology and body modification-obsessed city of the future. Having everything to lose, he stays alive by becoming an edgerunner — a mercenary outlaw also known as a cyberpunk.

While we already saw from the previous trailers what the visual look of the series is going to be, this red band trailer really goes far to show just how adult the series can get, what with all the sex and violence. I guess it’s pretty on-brand for an IP like Cyberpunk, seeing as you can openly have sex with characters and even customize your genitals. It would have probably felt lacking if they didn’t add any of that in the anime.

Though Cyberpunk wasn’t the perfect game at launch, a lot of fans agree that the world-building is definitely fantastic, and there’s a lot of room for storytellers to play without breaking any official canon. With Studio Trigger’s reputation, I’m sure they have something interesting to bring to the table when it comes to Night City and its gritty inhabitants.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners comes to Netflix on Sept. 13.
