A lot of fans are excited for Cal Kestis’ return in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, but so far we still have no release date. What we do have a release for is some upcoming tie-in books that will help inform on the Survivor experience.
As officially announced by StarWars.com, Star Wars Jedi: Battle Scars and The Art of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor are set to come out in 2023; Battle Scars will release March 07, 2023 and the art book will come out May 2, 2023. Though there isn’t any official confirmation, fans are speculating that Survivor will release sometime between both books.
While the Art of books are pretty standard when it comes to Star Wars, Battle Scars will be telling a story between the events of Fallen Order and Survivor. We don’t know if this will be required reading for the game, but I think we should expect some kind of callback or reward when we do read it then play the game; we shouldn’t be expected to read Battle Scars to enjoy Survivor though.
Though EA Games had been getting some harsh criticism for their handling of the Star Wars IP, Fallen Order had been a surprise hit, and everyone is excited to jump back into this ‘Dark Souls but Star Wars’ title. That being said, the first game wasn’t perfect, and I’m hoping that this sequel builds on what made the first game great. Let’s also hope they added some new playable weapons or characters.
No specific release date has been announced for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, but the game is expected to launch sometime in 2023.
