The Perpetual Mechanical Array is one of the world bosses in Genshin Impact, included in the arrival of Inazuma, the nation ruled by the Electro Archon.
After activating the region, this boss’s location is marked on the map icon, but going directly to that map icon is not the easiest way to get to it.
There are two ways to get to where this machine-type boss is. The easiest is through a portal, and the other way is through some underground and underwater ruins.
Portal Access
The portal that sends you to the base of the Perpetual Mechanical Array is located above Jinren Island, which is north of Araumi.
On a piece of land south of the main island of Jinren, there is a Thunder Bough.
You can summon a Thunder Sphere and ride it to glide up to where the portal is located.
This portal will automatically transport you to the base of the Perpetual Mechanical Array.
Araumi Underground Ruins Access
This manner of accessing the machine-type boss will need you to complete the first part of the world quest entitled Sacred Sakura Cleansing Ritual. After that, you will be asked to perform the ritual in three remaining locations.
The ruin in question will only be accessed after cleansing the Sakura tree roots under Araumi.
A round door will open at one end of the ruin after guiding two Seelies to their statues. One of the Seelies is above the pillars near this door, and the other is on the other side of the room near a cube puzzle.
Despite unlocking this door, the gate to the other side is still locked, and the water flooding the lower parts of the ruin is still too high.
The next step is to go back to the inside of the ruin where you found one of the Seelies and solve the puzzle. To quickly solve this puzzle in 4 steps, see the image below and position yourself the same way. The numbers are the sequence of which cube to hit.
To reset the puzzle to its initial position, log out of the game for a few minutes and return to this area.
After solving the said puzzle, a precious chest will appear next to a hole on the floor. Looking at the hole, you will see that the water has lowered.
You can drop from this hole and swim to the left through the flooded hallways to the locked room. Or you can go to the round door you recently opened and swim from there to get to said room.
Inside the second room is another puzzle which you will have to solve to empty the ruin of water.
The easiest way to solve this puzzle is to hit the 3rd or middle cube twice, so the 1st, 3rd, and 5th cubes face the wall together with the 2nd and 4th cubes.
Now that the water has been drained off of the ruin, go back outside both rooms, and you will see another round door adjacent to the rooms.
Activate the mechanism to open this door. Inside you will come across Automatons, which you have to defeat. Go through the rooms to go deeper into the ruin.
You will then get into an underground space with a teleport waypoint and remains of a shipwreck.
Just across this space is another room, and below it is where you can find the Perpetual Mechanical Array.
