Farming legendary weapons in Borderlands 3 can be a bit of a grind, so knowing when and where to farm them will make your life much easier.
There are a ton of legendary weapons, artifacts, shields, grenade mods, and class mods that players can choose from and farm in Borderlands 3. These legendary items can be game-changing for players who obtain them, so it’s no surprise that many want to farm for legendaries as early as possible.
However, farming for legendary items is easier said than done. Some of these can be hard to find and even harder to acquire. Once you get a legendary weapon, it will make everything a little bit easier due to its strength and power.
Luckily, some veteran players have discovered which areas are easy and effective in farming these coveted legendary weapons. This is most useful for those who are having trouble getting the weapon they’ve always wanted. Certain areas in the game yield a lot more loot that players can sell or store at the Sanctuary.
When to Farm Legendary Weapons in Borderlands 3?
There is a certain debate about whether farming legendary weapons early in Borderlands 3 is a good idea. Many veteran players often advise newbies to postpone farming them until they are maxed out, while some say otherwise.
As you continue to play the game and level up, you will most likely replace your current weapons with better ones as soon as you get them—legendary weapons are no exception.
However, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you should completely abandon the thought of farming them during the early stages of your playthrough. What most players don’t realize is that there are a few legendary weapons that you can obtain early. Some of them are even hidden in the very beginning.

If you have all the time in the world, farming is not harmed for them early in the game. However, should you choose not to farm legendaries early, you can still obtain a couple by running Mayhem mode or completing the main story.
Legendary Weapons You Can Get Early in Borderlands 3
A couple of legendary weapons in the game are obtainable at an early level. We’ve listed some of the best early-game legendaries you can utilize well, even if you’re just starting in Borderlands 3.
1. Bankrolled Predatory Lending
This weapon is a unique legendary submachine gun you can easily obtain by killing the mini-boss, Lavender Crawly, in The Droughts area on Pandora. The flavor text “bullets are cheap, but not that cheap” is written on the weapon.
Although using money as ammo may seem impractical, high-level cash drops can provide more rounds than necessary, leading to an unlimited ammo supply for your character. This is essential during raid fights and other instances where you might run out of ammo. Aside from that, this weapon has better stats than most SMGs of purple-rarity, making it one of the most versatile weapons in the game.
2. Stabby Broosin SkekSil
This weapon is a legendary pistol that, even though it has a bottomless magazine, can overheat occasionally and eventually break. This pistol is only obtained by killing the mini-boss, Skrakk, located in Ascension Bluff on Pandora.
3. EMP
The EMP is a grenade mod dropped by Baron Noggin, a respawnable mini-boss, in Meridian Metroplex. Although this legendary grenade mod is not the strongest in taking out enemies, it is mostly used in depleting the shields of powerful enemies such as Guardians. Alternatively, if you want to rapidly deplete your shield, throw this Grenade mod at your feet without risking self-crippling.
4. Redundant Phebert
This legendary shotgun is only obtained by killing the respawnable mini-boss, Wick, in Lectra City on Promethea. As its flavor text says, “faster than all estimates,” its bullets reach far and travel almost instantaneously toward the enemy. Although it has a reduced pellet count than most shotguns in the game, it is still a pretty solid weapon overall.
5. One Pump Chump
This unique legendary weapon is a shotgun that can be obtained from any source but has a higher drop rate from defeating the One Punch boss in Lectra City on Promethea. This shotgun is unique as it reloads after every shot and has a 1.50% chance not to consume the current ammo.
