Alleged Overwatch 2 Leak Reveals New Look for Soldier: 76 and Change in Doomfist Hero Status

This photo was allegedly posted on the Overwatch League Facebook, and you can see the new avatar for Soldier: 76:

Besides the new look at Soldier, some fans noticed that Doomfist’s icon has changed from Attack hero to Tank.

For now, fans are arguing about the legitimacy of the photo. Still, knowing what we already do about the game, it is possible that there could be some changes in the way that heroes play in the field, especially when the devs are looking for ways to add different powers to each hero.

Admittedly, Overwatch has been in the dark the last couple of months. Besides the loss of Jeff Kaplan as game director, the studio had also gone through a major acquisition after Microsoft bought Activision Blizzard.

Ever since the last Developer Update, fans have been promised they will be getting more frequent status updates on Overwatch 2, and maybe this leak is proof of progress. Hopefully, we do not have to wait too long before getting an announcement.

No release date has been set for Overwatch 2, but you can play the original Overwatch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
