Yanmega
Yanmega, the 106th Pokemon in the Hisuian Pokedex, is a Bug and Flying type Ogre Darner Pokemon that has a dark green body that resembles a huge dragonfly, two plates on its back and another on top of its head, a triangular plate on its tail, several red circles on its body and tail, four, oval-shaped wings with red tips, another pair of smaller wings on its tail, three pairs of thin legs on each side, a pair of large red eyes with black lines, and a pair of large fangs next to its mouth.
According to its Pokedex entry in the game, Yanmega is very violent and does not waste energy when hunting by only aiming at the weak points of its prey. Furthermore, anyone who manages to tame a Yanmega is considered extremely brave.
Basic Information
Yanmega is a Bug and Flying-type Pokemon, so it has a weakness to Electric-type, Fire-type, Flying-type, Ice type, and especially Rock-type moves (super effective), a resistance to Bug-type and especially Fighting-type and Grass-type moves (not very effective), and an immunity to Ground-type moves (no effect).
Yanmega’s base stats are 86 HP, 76 Attack, 86 Defense, 116 Special Attack, 56 Special Defense, and 95 Speed, for a total of 515.
Yanmega can be evolved from a Yanma once it has learned the move Ancient Power.
Yanmega’s favorite foods include Springy Mushrooms, Dazzling Honey, Hearty Grains, and Plump Beans. Yanmega can be diverted or fed with these items and berries, allowing it to be caught or battled unawares.
When a Yanmega is caught or defeated in the wild, the player receives a Seed of Mastery and an Exp Candy M.
Location
To find a Yanmega, the player can head to these locations:
In the Crimson Mirelands: in Droning Meadow.
In the Coronet Highlands: in Heavenward Lookout.
It is important to note that the Yanmega that can be encountered in Droning Meadow in the Crimson Mirelands is an Alpha Pokemon. The Alpha Yanmega that can be found here is a Level 58 Pokemon and can be found here at all times of the day and in every weather condition.
Aside from these, there is a chance that the player will find a group of Yanmega in Massive Mass Outbreaks in the Crimson Mirelands.
Research Tasks
The following are the Research Tasks in Yanmega’s Pokedex entry:
Multiplier | Research Task | Objectives |
x2 | Number caught | 1/2/4/10/15 |
Number of alpha specimens caught | 1/2/3
x2 | Number you have caught without being spotted | 1/2/4/6/10 |
Number defeated | 1/2/4/10/15
Number you have defeated with Flying type moves | 1/2/5/10/20
Times you have seen it use Ancient Power | 1/3/6/12/25
x2 | Times you have seen it use Bug Buzz | 1/3/8/20/40 |
Times you have seen it use a strong style move | 1/3/8/20/40 |
A Research Level is obtained by accomplishing a Research Task objective, while two Research Levels are obtained by completing a Research Task objective with an x2 multiplier. A Pokemon’s Pokedex entry must get to Research Level 10 to be considered finished.
By completing Research Task objectives and Pokedex entries, the player will gain Research Points. The player’s Star Rank in the Galaxy Team will rise if they accumulate enough Research Points.
To quickly complete Yanmega’s Pokedex entry, the player can catch the Alpha Yanmega in the Crimson Mirelands without being spotted, then use it in the battle to use Bug Buzz three times with at least one of them in Strong Style.
Performing all that will fulfill the first objective of the “Number caught” Research Task to gain two Research Levels because of its x2 multiplier, tick the first objective of the “Number alpha specimens caught” Research Task to get one Research Level, tick the first objective of the “Number you have caught without being spotted” Research Task to gain two Research Levels because of its x2 multiplier, fulfill the first and second objective of the “Times you have seen it use Bug Buzz” Research Task to gain four more Research Level also thanks to its x2 multiplier, and, finally, tick the first objective of the “Times you have seen it use a strong style move” to gain the last Research Level needed to get to Research Level 10.
