One of the goals of Pokemon Legends: Arceus is to make the line “Gotta catch ’em all,” an iconic phrase from the franchise, a reality.  In the game, the player becomes a member of the Survey Corps, whose mission is to learn all they can about the Pokemon that live in the ancient Hisui region. Arceus, the legendary Pokemon, will also task the player with meeting every Pokemon in the area.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus Ultimate Yanma Guide

This Pokemon Legends: Arceus Ultimate Yanma guide will teach you everything you need to know about the Flying-type Pokemon!

Pokemon Legends: Arceus Yanma

Yanma, the 105th Pokemon in the Hisuian Pokedex, is a Bug and Flying-type Clear Wing Pokemon that has a large, red body that looks like that of a dragonfly’s, a round, green, and redhead, a pair of oval, blue eyes, a pair of red spikes on top of its head, a small mouth, a short and broad thorax, three pairs of thin legs with two toes on each leg, two pairs of white wings with orange bands on each wing, a long and thin abdomen, and a tail with two flat extensions on each side and two white spikes in the center.

According to its Pokedex entry in the game, a person can see clearly through Yanma’s frail wings because of how thin it is, but when flying, its wings can create enough power to stir air powerful enough to throw a house skyward.

Basic Information

Yanma is a Bug and Flying-type Pokemon which is weak (super effective) to Electric-type, Fire-type, Flying-type, Ice type, and especially Rock-type moves, resistant (not very effective) to Bug-type and especially Fighting-type and Grass-type moves, and immune (no effect) to Ground-type moves.

Yanma’s base stats are 65 HP, 65 Attack, 45 Defense, 75 Special Attack, 45 Special Defense, and 95 Speed, for a total of 392.

Yanma can be evolved to a Yanmega once it has learned the move Ancient Power.

Springy Mushrooms, Dazzling Honey, Hearty Grains, and Plump Beans make up Yanma’s preferred foods. Yanma can be distracted or fed with these items and berries, allowing it to be caught or battled while unaware.

When a Yanma is captured or defeated in the wild, the player is rewarded with a Vivichoke and Hearty Grains.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus Yanma Location

The player will be able to find Yanma in the areas mentioned in every weather condition but only during the daytime (morning, midday, and evening).

There is also a chance that the player will come across a group of Yanma in the Crimson Mirelands during Massive Mass Outbreaks.

Research Tasks

The following are the Research Tasks in Yanma’s Pokedex entry:

MultiplierResearch TaskObjectives
x2Number caught1/3/6/12/25
Number you have caught without being spotted1/2/4/6/10
x2Number caught in the evening1/2/5/10/20

Number you have defeated with Rock-type moves1/2/4/6/10
x2Times you have seen it use Ancient Power1/3/8/20/40
x2Number you have evolved1

A Research Level can be gained by completing a Research Task objective, whereas two Research Levels are earned by accomplishing a Research Task objective with a multiplier of x2. A Pokemon’s Pokedex entry must reach Research Level 10 to be considered complete.

The player will earn Research Points by completing Research Task objectives and Pokedex entries. If a player earns enough Research Points, their Star Rank in the Galaxy Team will rise.

To quickly complete Yanma’s Pokedex entry, the player can catch three Yanmas, with at least two caught without the player being spotted and during the evening. Doing all these will fulfill the first and second objectives of the “Number caught” Research Task to get four Research Levels thanks to its x2 multiplier, tick the first and second objective of the “Number you’ve caught without being spotted” Research Task to raise two Research Levels, and fulfill the first and second objective of the “Number caught in the evening” Research Task to gain four more Research Levels, also thanks to its x2 multiplier, to ultimately reach Research Level 10.
