Genshin Impact, the newest free-to-play RPG has taken over the world by storm. Gamers from all over the world are considering starting their Genshin journey.
It’s a very interesting game, and no wonder on why it gained such popularity. So, getting players from left, right, and center means multiple platforms want to hop on this trend. But can you play with your other-platform friends?
Well, that’s exactly why we are here. We will answer the question – is Genshin Impact cross-play?
Genshin Impact: Is it Cross-Play?
RPGs do work well with cross-platform availability. This is because there isn’t always a big gap in advantages and disadvantages between systems.
Furthermore, we see more and more games implementing this option. Even games which do have an enormous gap between advantages and disadvantages.
So, let’s get to the most pressing question. Is Genshin Impact cross-play? YES, Genshin Impact supports cross-play. You can play in parties of up to four players.
There isn’t a PvP aspect in Genshin so the gap I talked about before doesn’t matter as much in this game. Thankfully, this game has cross-platform capabilities, since it’s optimized greatly to work this way.
Additionally, there is also cross-progression capability, which means your progression will be saved on your account.
If you switch platforms and use the same account, the progression will be transferred as well. However, I have some bad news.
Sadly, this doesn’t include PS4. The only platform which have cross-progression are iOS, Android, and PC. So, technically you can play Genshin on the go.
All of your mobile progress will be saved to your account. It’s unfortunate for PS4 though. Nevertheless, judging by how fast this game is gaining popularity, we might expect a PS4 addition as well.
They might have gotten roadblocks on PlayStation, since this console has publicly been iffy with allowing games to have linked accounts. Nonetheless, we are quite sure that the future is very bright!
