Small but significant updates to kickstart the year.

Diablo Immortal 2023 Content Update: Rising Damnation Limited-time Event and Feature Updates Guide

Blizzard has just released the first Content Update for 2023 headlined by a limited-time event called the Rising Damnation. Along with the limited-time event comes changes for Legendary Gems, Reforge Stones, and Social Notifications.

Blizzard says the current Content Update is smaller than the typical updates players got last year but assures players that more Content Updates and Major Updates are coming later in the year.

That said, here’s everything you need to know about Diablo Immortal’s first Content Update of the year.

Rising Damnation Limited-Time Event

Blizzard is known for dishing out multiple events for Diablo Immortal throughout the course of a season. For 2023, Blizzard has added a new limited-time event called Rising Damnation.

The limited-time event will give players a chance to collect valuable loot such as Crests, Legendary Crests, Scrap Materials, Enchanted Dust, and other valuable in-game items.

Similar to most limited-time events in Diablo Immortal, Rising Damnation offers simple tasks like salvaging equipment, killing a specific number of monsters, and sending chat messages to friends. Completing individual tasks will reward players with the corresponding task reward shown on the event page.

Players will also get 1 point for every challenge they complete, which then goes to a milestone counter where even bigger rewards await.

Milestone rewards can be collected at 3, 5, 8, and 10 completed tasks.

  • 3 Tasks – Mystery Legendary Item
  • 5 Tasks – 6x Crests
  • 8 Tasks – 1x Telluric Pearl
  • 10 Tasks – 1 Legendary Crest

The event will run from January 5 at 3 a.m. to January 13 at 3 a.m. server time.

New Legendary Gems, Reforge Stones, and Social Notification Improvements

Legendary Gem Changes

The mini update also comes with changes to two Legendary Gems – Chip of Stone Flesh and Seeping Bile. Since these two Legendary Gems affect summoned units, classes such as the Necromancer will benefit from these changes the most.

  • Chip of Stoned Flesh: Enemies affected by Explosive Curse will receive additional damage from summoned creatures.
  • Seeping Bile: Critical Hits from summoned creatures will get damage-over-time effects.

Reforge Stones

Blizzard is making Reforge Stones more accessible by allowing players to use Platinum to purchase the stones. Previously, players could only purchase Reforge Stones using Eternal Orbs. This change should help make the item easier to acquire in-game.

Social Notification Improvements

Blizzard added a feature that notifies Warband and Clan members whenever players create a Helliquary Raid. This allows Warband/Clan members to join Raids faster.

Party Leader Bounties will automatically be shared with Party members as well and will be given the option to swap Bounties with the Party Leader.

Minor Updates to Start The New Year

Blizzard itself admits that the Rising Damnation Content Update is one of the smaller updates to arrive in Diablo Immortal this year. However, the company also promises that bigger and more comprehensive updates are to come later in the year.

For now, players can focus on completing the tasks found in the Rising Damnation Limited-Time Event and collecting all the featured loot rewards from the event.
