It would sound possible that chests are reoccurring and respawn once opened, through the world of Genshin Impact. Why?
Because there is probably a limit on how much chests you can find, after all the world is not endless, it has to have a certain dedicated space. Not that the world in Genshin Impact is small, but that is the undeniable truth.

Let’s say that there are only a number of chests available in Genshin Impact. Although there is not an exact figure for this, we believe it’s in the hundreds and possible thousands.
After opening all chests, how else will you receive rewards? Well, there are ways like with quests, side missions, dungeons, etc.
Which brings me to the answer, which is that chests that are opened in Genshin Impact can’t respawn again.
I feel like that this is not a major issue that this game might face. This is because there are already a lot of plans that are widely known, for expanding the game.
The developers have been very open that this is far from the last stage of the game. It is common knowledge that they want to implement more ascensions, which will mean new locations, new quests, dungeons, bosses, etc.
Nevertheless, even if that isn’t the case, there are already an excessive number of chests in the game. Not to mention, there are millions of other ways of receiving loot and rewards.
Furthermore, we have not seen anything that will indicate that the developers are considering implementing this mechanic. From previous RPG experience, I can tell you that, that is highly unlikely. But don’t take my word on it, it’ just a speculation. For now, enjoy the vast Genshin world!
