There are items in Genshin Impact that you need to collect for player or weapon ascensions. Like this, the Recruit’s Insignia needs to be collected for a couple of character ascensions.
However, these items are usually rarer and you will need to search around in your diary or the world to find from where they can be obtained.

Recruit’s Insignia Location – Genshin Impact![]()
As I said, this object is more of an ascension item. On its own, it serves no purpose. But you can use it to ascend Diluc and Ningguang.
What’s interesting is the fact that this item is used for quite a lot of weapon ascensions, practically eight of them. From swords to bows, this item is one of the most common weapon ascension items.
It can be dropped by Skirmishers and Agents, and this are the Recruit’s Insignia locations:
- Fatui Skirmisher – Anemoboxer Vanguard
Location: Windwail Highland, Mondstadt
- Fatui Skirmisher – Anemoboxer Vanguard
Location: Dadaupa Gorge, Mondstadt
- Fatui Skirmisher – Anemoboxer Vanguard
Location: Stormterror’s Lair, Mondstadt
- Agents
Location: Lingju Pass
These are all the known locations for the Recruit’s Insignia. The bosses are high-level above Lv. 30 at least, but don’t worry because they’re not that strong.
You can expect to get 2-6 Recruit’s Insignia from a single boss, and the bosses are very easy to eliminate. Also, you can check your diary and see if you find any other bosses that drop Recruit’s Insignia.
It’s highly unlikely, because they’re the Insignias that were given to the recruits who joined Fatui’s war machine.
If you are in need of Sergeant’s Insignias though, they are dropped more or less by the same mobs. However, they are rarer than the Recruit’s one.
Also, you can craft the Sergeant’s Insignia from the Recruit’s one. You’ll need three Recruit’s Insignias if you want to make this item. Good luck!
