God of War: Ragnarok had already been pushed back from last year, and since we have not been getting any updates on the game, some fans are worried it will not come out this year either. The good news is that someone on the inside is confident that it will make its 2022 release.
Sony Santa Monica animation director Bruno Velasquez confirms to a fan on Twitter:
Admittedly, the fan does have a point. It has been seven months since the last big reveal for God of War: Ragnarok, and we have not gotten any major updates from Santa Monica. Even if the movie were set to come out later in the year, you would think that we would have gotten a new teaser by now.
If anything, maybe the studio is trying its best not to compete with the hype material that is coming out in May. We know that Disney is hard at work promoting the release of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Obi-Wan Kenobi. They are also peddling their latest Marvel show, Moon Knight.
Sony probably wants things nice and quiet before they show one of the most anticipated games for the PlayStation. My guess is we could get something by June, but that’s just speculation on my part. Fingers crossed, we get the new trailer sooner rather than later.
Kratos and Atreus must journey to each of the Nine Realms in search of answers as they prepare for the prophesied battle that will end the world. Together, Kratos and Atreus venture deep into the Nine Realms in search of answers as Asgardian forces prepare for war.
Along the way, they will explore stunning, mythical landscapes, gather allies from across the realms and face fearsome enemies in the form of Norse gods and monsters. As the threat of Ragnarök grows ever closer, Kratos and Atreus find themselves choosing between the safety of their family and the safety of the realms…
No release date has been announced for God of War: Ragnarok, but the game is expected to be available for PlayStation 5 sometime later this year.
