A week after its rumored announcement, Santa Monica Studios has finally given us an official release date for the highly-anticipated God of War Ragnarok.
As per the official announcement, Kratos and Atreus will be coming back to consoles when Ragnarok launches on November 9, 2022. Here’s the post:
The reveal also comes with a new cinematic trailer featuring Kratos and Atreus. Check this out:
Join Kratos and Atreus on a mythic journey for answers before the prophesied battle that will end the world. All the while, the eyes of Asgard watch their every move…
While we had already gotten a look at some more familiar elements from the previous game like Kratos and the dwarf brothers Brok and Sindri, we have yet to get a good look at the incoming characters that Father and Son will be going up against.
Though we do get a look at the Norse God of War, Tyr, the real clash that people are looking forward to is that of Kratos and Thor—who is teased wielding Mjolnir in the first game. So far we only know that Thor is pretty hefty for this version of the character, but we shouldn’t expect him to be as charming as Marvel’s version. If anything, this Thor has been described to be a real slob, but that doesn’t make him any less of a formidable warrior.
God of War Ragnarok launches for the PlayStation on Nov. 9.
