Learn how to complete the Closing the Deal mission in GTA 5!
At some point in GTA 5’s main storyline, Trevor will meet a character named Josh Bernstein. Bernstein’s company has declined since his former business partner, Lenny Avery, caused his company to get its license revoked.
To get back at Lenny Avery, Josh Bernstein employs Trevor’s expertise to threaten and sabotage his former business partner. Closing the Deal is the second Strangers & Freaks mission between Trevor and Josh Bernstein.
We have outlined everything you need to know about Closing the Deal and how you can get a Gold Medal for completing the mission in GTA 5.
Closing the Deal Synopsis
Trevor meets Josh Bernstein outside a motel in Rancho. Trevor spends the night in the Motel and meets Josh outside the Motel in the morning. Thanks to the previous job, Josh Bernstein arranged a gift for Trevor waiting inside one of the Motel rooms.
Josh Bernstein asks another favor from Trevor – scare Lenny Avery. Josh tells Trevor that Lenny Avery is meeting a Rockford Hills client. Trevor makes his way to Rockford Hills immediately.
Josh calls Trevor along the way and tells him to look for a green Comet. He also informs Trevor to keep his eyes peeled as Josh accidentally tells Avery that Trevor is coming for him.
Trevor quickly stopped at Rockford Hills and stopped a pedestrian to ask for directions. The pedestrian points Trevor to a house just a few blocks from his current location.
As Trevor arrives at the house, Lenny Avery immediately runs away in his green Comet.
Trevor chases after Lenny Avery and forces him to stop his vehicle. Lenny Avery exits his vehicle to talk to Trevor, but Trevor immediately beats him up.
Lenny Avery begs Trevor to stop, saying he will do anything for him. Trevor simply tells Lenny Avery to stay away from Josh Bernstein’s business.
Closing the Deal Gold Medal Objectives
- Pulverizer: Use a melee weapon to beat up Avery
- Seized: Stop Avery’s car within 40 seconds.
All Gold Medal objectives for this mission can be completed through multiple replays. You can return another time and replay the mission to get the rest of the Gold Medal objectives.
Closing the Deal Mission Guide
Meet up with Josh Bernstein at the Motel in Rancho.
Get up the stairs and stand on the yellow marker. You can skip the cutscene to speed things up.
After the last cutscene, head to Rockford Hills.
At Rockford Hills, Trevor will stop one of the pedestrians to ask for directions. Just wait for the conversation to finish, then head up a couple of houses. Look for a green Comet in one of the houses on the left.
Lenny Avery will run away as soon as you enter the gate. Chase him down.
Use your submachine gun to blow out his car’s tires and force him to stop.
Lenny Avery will exit his vehicle once he’s stopped completely. Approach him and use a low-damage melee weapon to get the Pulverizer Gold Medal Objective. You only need to hit him once.
Don’t hit him with anything larger than a nightstick.
Business Matters
Trevor won’t pass on favors that will give him a worthwhile reward and an avenue to redirect the burning rage in his heart. Closing the Deal is just one of many missions in GTA 5 where Trevor can truly assert himself on individuals who are not brave enough to retaliate.
Getting the Pulverizer Gold Medal Objective should be easy in Closing the Deal. Lenny Avery will not run away when you approach him with a melee weapon, making him an easy target. Remember to use a weapon that won’t kill him in one hit.
On the other hand, Seized can be a little more challenging to achieve since you need to stop Lenny Avery as soon as he runs away. Use your submachinegun and aim for his Comet’s tires to force him to stop immediately.
