The Mortal Kombat Legends movies have focused on longtime franchise characters like Liu Kang and Johnny Cage, but the next entry in the series is going to be giving us a look at one of the ‘newer’ characters in the game.
Watch the blind swordsman Kenshi take the spotlight in the trailer for Mortal Kombat Legends: Snow Blind:
While Kenshi himself is not a classic character, the movie also brings to the fray a lot of the newer fighters like the gunslinger Erron Black as well as the duo Ferra & Torr. Of course, we still get familiar faces like Kano, Kabal, and the OG MK villain, Shang Tsung.
I think it also goes without saying that the old man who trains Kenshi is probably Sub-Zero. I get pretty lost in the lore of which is the ‘real’ Sub-Zero, but the one with the scar on his face is usually considered the ‘good’ version of the ice ninja.
With the last movie featuring the defeat of Shao Khan, it’s unclear where Snow Blind takes place in the timeline. If you ask me, I think it’s pretty fun to just have anthology stories that feature some cool characters. I mean, MK has never really been about the seriousness of the lore, but about action and comic violence.
At least, that’s how I read the franchise.
Mortal Kombat Legends: Snow Blind is set to hit digital and Blu-Ray soon.
