It looks like the leaks were true. After years of waiting, LEGO Star Wars fans can finally rest easy knowing that the upcoming game covering the entire Skywalker Saga won’t be too far off.
In a new gameplay overview video, it’s been revealed that LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will be releasing on April 5, 2022. Watch this:
While we know that the Skywalker Saga has a chronological order, the game will actually allow players to start in the trilogy of their choosing, from the Original Trilogy, the Prequel Trilogy, and finally the Sequel Trilogy.
It also looks like the game has built on a lot of what made the original LEGO Star Wars great in the first place. Besides the very deep cut Easter Eggs, the game also encourages exploration and discovery, and you can unlock certain goods for completing levels at 100 percent.
Probably the newest mechanic is the combat, which gives each character special abilities; they even have their own skill trees to progress throughout the game. With the original games being more simple with character abilities, I wonder if this sequel can make all 300 characters feel unique to play.
The galaxy is yours with LEGO Star Wars™: The Skywalker Saga! Play through all nine saga films in a brand-new video game unlike any other. With over 300 playable characters, over 100 vehicles, and 23 planets to explore, the galaxy has never been more fun!
Build a galaxy far far away when LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga hits PS4, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One on April 5.
