How to Play Crossplay in 7 Days to Die

7 Days to Die 1.0 is finally here, and many of its fans have been asking about the crossplay feature. After sitting in the alpha version for years, the game is finally considered good enough for a full release at full price but is it really complete?

Like any other game available on Windows, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, one would expect that 7 Days to Die will have Crossplay, where all players from different platforms band together to fight hordes of zombies.

Will 7 Days to Die have Crossplay in the Future?

Unfortunately, version 1.0 wasn’t released with a crossplay feature. Looking at the 7 Days to Die’s official Roadmap, the developers are working on adding crossplay to the game, which is expected to be added in the final quarter of 2024.

In their Q & A section, it was mentioned that while version 1.0 isn’t yet ready for crossplay, connections have already been established for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X. However, they’re still waiting for certification approval from Microsoft and Sony. They will release a complete statement once they have more information.

According to the roadpmap, it looks like crossplay may only be available for console players, leaving PC players out.

What’s Next for 7 Days to Die?

crossplay possible

Aside from crossplay, there are plenty of features to be added in the future. This includes new threats, such as bandits, who will most likely attack your fort whenever they get a chance. They will also add an Event System and New Quest type to keep players engaged and occupied during their venture into the apocalyptic world.

The final section of the road map will include Trader Overhaul, Steam workshop support, and the most awaited Story Mode!

Despite being a small company, The Fun Pimps works hard to deliver the game their players want, and by looking at their roadmap, they have quite a busy year ahead.

Conclusion

Currently, they’re busy fixing bugs and issues such as frame drops and poor optimization, which most players encountered after version 1.0 was released. Hopefully, once the minor problem has been patched up, the progression of their roadmap will go seamlessly.
