As opposed to participating in Pokemon Gyms and becoming a Champion, the player in Pokemon Legends: Arceus becomes part of the Galaxy Expedition Team, frequently referred to as the Galaxy Team, to become one of the members of the Survey Corps to acquire knowledge about the Pokemon found in the Hisui region. One of the biggest duties of the player is to complete the Pokedex by catching and looking into each species of Pokemon in the region.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus Ultimate Burmy Guide

This guide will discuss everything you need to know about Burmy!

Burmy

Burmy, the 43rd Pokemon in the Hisuian Pokedex, is a Bug-type Bagworm Pokemon with a black segmented body, a pair of round yellow eyes, a small mouth that looks like a beak, a coiled antenna on the top of its head, three pairs of stubby legs with the last pair having yellow tips, round white markings on its cheeks, and its body covered in a cloak of three variants: Plant Cloak, Sandy Cloak, and Trash Cloak. Burmy’s Plant Cloak form.

Burmy’s Plant Cloak form is when its body is covered with leaves and twigs, its Sandy Cloak form is when its body is covered in sand, mud, and a few rocks held together by its silk, and its Trash Cloak form is when its body is covered in dust and garbage that looks like pink building insulation.

Burmy has different Pokedex entries in the game for each of its forms. According to its Trash Cloak form Pokedex entry, Burmy will immediately repair its cloak, even if it is only slightly damaged, using whatever is close to it. Burmy is scrawny and vulnerable to cold temperatures without its cloak.

According to its Trash Cloak from Pokedex entry, Burmy will create a cloak using dust and garbage if there is no other material to use, and its trash cloak is more comfortable than people think. According to its Sandy Cloak from Pokedex entry, Burmy’s earthen cloak is easily destroyed by the rain and the wind so it will hide away in places like caves.

Basic Information

Burmy is a Bug-type Pokemon, which means it is weak (super effective) to Rock-type, Fire-type, and Flying-type and resistant (not very effective) to Fighting-type, Grass-type, and Ground-type.

Burmy’s base stats are 40 HP, 29 Attack, 45 Defense, 29 Special Attack, 45 Special Defense, and 36 Speed, for 224.

Burmy can evolve to a Wormadam when a female Burmy reaches Level 20 or a Mothim when a male Burmy reaches Level 20.

Springy Mushrooms, Dazzling Honey, Hearty Grains, and Plump Beans are some of Burmy’s favorite foods, and they’re great to throw at it to distract it before catching or battling it or just to feed it.

When a Burmy is caught or defeated in the wild, it drops a Lum Berry and a Vivichoke, which the player receives.

Location

Burmy may be found by throwing a Pokemon to shaking trees in these locations:

Shaking trees in the Obsidian Fieldlands: in Deertrack Path, in Deertrack Heights, in Nature’s Pantry, and Grueling Grove. The Burmy that can be found here is a Plant Cloak form.

Research Tasks

The following are the Research Tasks in Burmy’s Pokedex entry:

MultiplierResearch TaskObjectives
x2Number caught1/3/6/12/25
Number defeated1/3/6/12/25
Number you have defeated with Flying type moves1/2/5/10/20
Times you have seen it use Struggle Bug1/3/6/12/25
x2Number of different forms you have obtained3
Number you have seen leap out of trees1/3/6/12/25
x2Number you have evolved1/2/3

Accomplishing one of the objectives of a Research Task can raise the Research Level of an entry by one. However, accomplishing a Research Task objective with a multiplier of x2 gives an entry two Research Levels instead of one. To have a Pokemon’s Pokedex entry considered complete, it must reach Research Level 10.

To quickly complete Burmy’s Pokedex entry, the player can catch three Burmy from shaking trees, then defeat three more with at least two defeated using Flying-type moves. Doing these will tick the first and second objective of the “Number caught” Research Task to gain four Research Levels thanks to its x2 multiplier, tick the first and second objective of the “Number you have seen leap out of trees” Research Task to add two Research Levels, tick the first and second objective of the “Number defeated” Research Task to have two more Research Levels, and tick the first and second objective of the “Number you have defeated with Flying type moves” Research Task to raise two Research Levels and ultimately reach Research Level 10.

Relevant Request

Burmy is involved in Request 73, called “Which is the Real Burmy?”.

The player can unlock this request after receiving “The Slumbering Lord of the Tundra” Mission, the game’s twelfth mission. In it, the player is tasked to quell a frenzied Noble Hisuian Avalugg.

After accomplishing that, the player can start this request by heading to the west side of the Jubilife Village on the right side of the farm (near the left row of houses), where the player will find three villagers named Duna, Lief, and Tarush.

Talk to Leif, the man in the blue shirt, and the player will hear them arguing. Leif will claim that Burmy is the Pokemon with a cloak made of leaves, to which Duna will object, claiming that Burmy’s cloak is made of minerals such as sand and rock, but Tarush will interject, claiming that if it is not covered in trash, it is not a Burmy.

Leif will then ask Duna and Tarush if they saw a Burmy and not some other Pokemon, to which Duna will respond by questioning Lief and telling him they could ask him the same thing. Tarush will then mention he has seen a Burmy here in the Hisui Region and one back in his region, both of which are covered in trash. Duna will respond that perhaps he just got confused somehow.

Lief will then point out that they are all repeating the same arguments. They will then turn to the player, and Leif will say if someone brought an actual Burmy, they could figure out which is correct. As a result, Leif will ask the player to catch one and show it to them

Catch The Three Forms of Burmy

To complete this request, the player must catch the three forms of Burmy to show Leif, Duna, and Tarush

After catching a Plant Cloak, Trash Cloak, or Sandy Cloak form of Burmy, return to Duna, Lief, and Tarush, who are still on the west side of the Jubilife Village on the right side of the farm, then talk to Lief and show him the Burmy in the Plant Cloak form by selecting it on the prompt.

Lief will then confirm the Burmy, but Duna will say it looks similar and must be a different species. Tarush will say he is not buying it and disagree that it is a Burmy. As a result, Lief says he believes they should look at the “fake” Burmy if the “real deal” does not convince them. He will ask the player to show them the Burmy Duna and Tarush discussed.

Finding the Real Burmy

Then, speak with Duna and show her the Burmy in the Sandy Cloak form by selecting it from the prompt. Duna will say it is the true Burmy. Lief will deny that it is the Burmy, but he will admit that it does look similar. Tarush will agree with Lief and search for its garbage.

As a result, Duna will question them on how they can still disagree after seeing it up close. As a result, she will request that the player show them the Burmy that the others were discussing.

Talk to Tarush afterward and show him the Burmy in the Trash Cloak form by selecting it on the prompt. Tarush will say it is the real Burmy. Lief and Duna, on the other hand, will disagree. Lief will then say they still can’t agree on anything even after seeing all three forms of Burmy.

As a result, Lief will say that they should refer to Professor Laventon, and whichever Burmy he chooses to include in the Pokedex will be considered the real Burmy. After that, Lief will request that the player show them Burmy’s Pokedex entry once completed.

Burmy’s Pokedex

Next, the player must complete Burmy’s Pokedex entry. Burmy’s Research Level in the player’s Pokedex is most likely Research Level 8 after catching all three forms of Burmy from trees. So, defeating one using a Flying-type move or catching another Burmy would be the quickest way to get it to Research Level 10.

After completing Burmy’s Pokedex entry, return to Duna, Lief, and Tarush and talk to any of them to show Burmy’s completed Pokedex entry. They will realize that all the Burmy they are talking about is all real Burmy and that Pokemon of the same species can come in different forms.

As a result, they will all apologize to one another and thank and apologize to the player for assisting in clearing up the confusion. Tarush will then say that they were all correct and had wasted their time arguing.

Finally, the “Which is the Real Burmy?” Request is now completed, and the player will be rewarded with one Leaf Stone and three Exp. Candy M, for your efforts!

Burmy can be a helpful ally in completing tasks, requests, or Arceus’ mission for the player to catch ‘em all!
