The famous phrase from the globally recognized anime and one of the franchise’s most famous lines, “Gotta catch ’em all,” is one of the player’s main objectives in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. The game’s setting is in the distant past before the Hisui region was renamed the Sinnoh region.
In the game, the player, whose origin is unclear, will join the Galaxy Expedition Team (Galaxy Team for short) as one of the Survey Corps’ most important members. The Survey Corps’ job is to learn everything they can about the Pokemon in the region.
The player must catch every Pokemon species and complete Research Tasks to complete the first-ever Hisui Pokedex. Not only that, but the legendary Arceus will also task the player to meet every Pokemon in the region.
This guide will discuss everything you need to know about Chansey!
Chansey
Chansey, the 87th Pokemon in the Hisuian Pokedex, is a Normal-type Egg Pokemon that has a pink and round body, a pair of black and blue eyes, a small mouth, a pair of stubby arms, three dark pink-tipped growths on both sides of its head that look like tufts of hair, a pair of dark pink, oval-shaped legs, a short tail, and a dark pink pouch on the center of its belly with a single white egg inside.
As a female-only species, Chansey has no male counterpart. It is a pure-hearted Pokemon that shares its eggs with the injured, according to its Pokedex entry in the game. Also, it says that Chansey’s eggs are so nutritious that they are called “doctors’ doubles.”
Basic Information
Chansey is a Normal-type Pokemon with a weakness (super effective) to Fighting-type moves and an immunity (no effect) to Ghost-type moves.
Chansey’s base stats are 250 HP, 5 Attack, 5 Defense, 35 Special Attack, 105 Special Defense, and 50 Speed for a total of 450.
Chansey can be evolved from a Happiny by using an Oval Stone during the daytime (morning, midday, or evening).
Chansey likes Dazzling Honey, which, along with berries, may be used as food and a lure to catch or battle Chansey without the player being spotted.
The player will receive a Seed of Mastery and an Exp. Candy M, which the Chansey drops whenever the player catches or defeats a Chansey in the wild.
Location
To find a Chansey, the player can go to the following areas:
In the Obsidian Fieldlands: at the top of the Obsidian Falls.
The Cobalt Coastlands: in Hideaway Bay and Tombolo Walk.
In the Alabaster Icelands: in Avalanche Slopes.
The player can find Chansey in the areas mentioned at all times of the day and in every weather condition.

It is important to note that the player can find an Alpha Chansey in Tombolo Walk in the southeastern corner of the map of the Cobalt Coastlands, where it can also be found at all times of the day and in every weather condition. The Alpha Chansey that can be found in this area is a Level 51 Pokemon.
Aside from that, the player may also find Chansey in Massive Mass Outbreaks in the Cobalt Coastlands.
Research Tasks
The following are the Research Tasks in Chansey’s Pokedex entry:
Multiplier | Research Task | Objectives |
x2 | Number caught | 1/2/4/10/15 |
Number you have caught while they were sleeping | 1
Number defeated | 1/2/4/10/15
Number you have defeated with Fighting type moves | 1/2/4/6/10
Times you have seen it use Soft-Boiled | 1/3/6/12/25
x2 | Times you have given it food | 1/5/10/15/20 |
x2 | Number you have evolved | 1/2/3 |
Suppose one of a Research Task’s objectives is accomplished. In that case, the Research Level of a Pokedex entry is increased by one level, except for when a Research Task objective has a multiplier of x2, as it adds two Research Levels instead of only one when completing one of its objectives. A Pokemon’s Pokedex entry must attain Research Level 10 to be considered complete.
Remember that completing Pokedex entries and accomplishing Research Task objectives will give the player Research Points, which will raise the player’s Star Rank in the Galaxy Team if the player earns enough.
To quickly complete Chansey’s Pokedex entry, the player can find a Chansey and feed it food five times, catch one, then defeat two more using Fighting-type moves. Doing all these will tick the first and second objectives of the “Times you have given it food” Research Task to raise the Research Level to four thanks to its x2 multiplier; tick the first objective of the “Number caught” Research Task to add two Research Levels because of its x2 multiplier, tick the first and second objective of the “Number defeated” Research Task to gain two Research Levels, and tick the first and second objective of the “Number you have defeated with Fighting type moves” Research Task to add two more Research Levels and ultimately reach Research Level 10.
