Sonic the Hedgehog 2 comes out later this week, and the hype is on for the introduction of more members of the Sonic family onscreen. Just in, we have a new clip that has Sonic meeting Knuckles via his nemesis Robotnik.

While we do know that Knuckles eventually becomes Sonic’s friend in the games, it’s going to be interesting to watch that journey progress with the films. My guess is that Robotnik eventually gets more powerful and ditches Knuckles, but it would be great if the film could try out a different route.
With Tails and Knuckles making it onscreen with this sequel, fans are excited to see even more Sonic characters make their debut on the big screen. Hopefully the franchise runs long enough to have Sonic clash with his rival Shadow the Hedgehog, but maybe I’m getting too ahead of myself.
The world’s favorite blue hedgehog is back for a next-level adventure in SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 2. After settling in Green Hills, Sonic is eager to prove he has what it takes to be a true hero. His test comes when Dr. Robotnik returns, this time with a new partner, Knuckles, in search for an emerald that has the power to destroy civilizations. Sonic teams up with his own sidekick, Tails, and together they embark on a globe-trotting journey to find the emerald before it falls into the wrong hands.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 hits theaters on April 8.
