With Uncharted making a splash at the box office, Sony is now ready for more adaptations of their hit game IP. We know that The Last of Us is coming to HBO Max soon, but we have confirmation that Sony has three other adaptations set for different networks.
As per insider David Gibson, a recent Q&A with Sony president Jim Ryan has confirmed that series based on God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn, and Gran Turismo are in the works While all titles are available on the PlayStation banner, each will be produced in a different studio—God of War with Amazon Prime Video and Horizon for Netflix.
With the massive scale and visuals that each of these games have brought to the table, you would think that Sony would want to make these movie adaptations like Uncharted; then again, we don’t know how far these series have gone with development, and with the progress that TV VFX have undergone over the past few years, maybe we can expect some huge spectacle from the TV side of things when it comes to these adaptations.
If anything, we’ve yet to get official announcements on these adaptations, so until Sony gives us something to look at, all we can really do is speculate. My guess is we could have some kind of reveal this June, but that’s just wishful thinking on my part. I’m still waiting for that new look at the Last of Us series.
The Last of Us, Horizon Zero Dawn, God of War, and Gran Turismo are all available for PlayStation.
