Capcom has announced that Street Fighter 6 sales have surpassed 4 million units across all platforms. This piece covers every detail you should know about the milestone for SF6.

Street Fighter 6 Sales Go Beyond Four Million Units Worldwide

Street Fighter 6 has surpassed 4 million units in sales just 15 months after its full release across all platforms. This feat marks a new milestone for the iconic fighting game, bringing renewed prospects for the franchise, even though it’s the last main entry. Here’s everything you need to know about this remarkable milestone for Street Fighter 6:

Street Fighter 6 Sales Hit a New Milestone: Over 4 Million Copies Sold Globally

On September 5, 2024, the official Street Fighter X (Twitter) page announced that Street Fighter 6 had sold over 4 million units globally. In the tweet, the brand added a note of gratitude: “Thank you for playing and for helping us reach this milestone! We hope you’re excited for the future of SF6 as we intend to release more content and hold more events!”

As of July 2024, Street Fighter 6 sales were around 3.70 million copies. This means that an additional 300,000 copies have been sold in just a month, bringing the total to over 4 million units sales as of the beginning of September 2024.

This marks an impressive milestone for the series, and the success is no surprise for the latest Street Fighter installment. It brings a fresh experience by combining the new gameplay mechanics with the classic elements players love.

To put this Street Fighter 6 sales in context, here are the LTD sales, according to Capcom, for the previous entries in the Street Fighter franchise as of June 2024:

  • Street Fighter V reached 7.60 million units sold, but it took 3 years to hit 4.10 million sales by December 31, 2019.
  • Street Fighter IV has 3.60 million units sold.

Those numbers highlight the rapid success of Street Fighter 6, and we may see its sales continue to grow over its lifetime. Plus, this milestone could be a step toward outselling Street Fighter V and achieving Capcom’s internal goal of selling more than 10 million copies LTD.

In comparison, other fighting games have made a little different sales record. For instance, Tekken 8 sold 2 million copies within a month of its launch, while Mortal Kombat reached around 4 million copies in 11 months.
