The Bathysmal Vishap Herd is a boss enemy in Genshin Impact that arrived along with the region beneath the Watatsumi Island – Enkanomiya. This monster, or rather a pair of monsters, was introduced as the boss version of the lizard-like creature you came across when you started exploring Enkanomiya.
When the game’s 2.4 version was released, these boss enemies were not immediately available. You have to complete a few missions and challenges to access this boss and test your skills in defeating it.
Before you can challenge the Bathysmal Vishap Herd, you need to have access to Enkanomiya by first completing the world quests titled “The Moon-Bathed Deep” and “The Still Water’s Flow.” These two world quests open the entrance to Enkanomiya.
After getting access to Enakanomiya, you will need to complete a world quest series called “From Dusk to Dawn in Byakuyakoku.” This series involves two world quests: “The Entrance to Tokoyo” and “The Subterranean Trials of Drake and Serpent.”
The Entrance to Tokoyo world quest will have you explore the strange floating areas of Enkanomiya while unfolding some of its mysteries. To learn more about this world quest, you can see this guide.
In The Subterranean Trials of Drake and Serpent, you will be tasked to find and gather three fragments of something called the Reins of Revival, scattered in three different areas of Enkanomiya.
Looking for the three fragments can be challenging, especially for new players and those who have not explored Enkanomiya and its Teleport Waypoints. Here is a guide on finding the fragments of the Reins of Revival.
Once this item is in one piece again, a ritual will be performed to use the Reins of Revival as a key and activate it to unlock the deeper area where the Bathysmal Vishap Herd has been locked away.
After the first time, you defeat this boss. You will also have to beat an Abyss Lector: Fathomless Flames and progress through the quest.
