Sumeru is one of the seven nations of Teyvat in Genshin Impact, and its arrival is one of the major updates to the game. This fourth nation’s landscape features both rainforests and deserts. Along with the new areas to explore and new characters, both playable and NPCs, the most awaited Dendro Element was also added with the 3.0 version update.
Sumeru is the home of the god of wisdom, the Dendro Archon Lesser Lord Kusanali, who is the youngest of all seven Archons. She rose to the position after the previous Dendro Archon, Greater Lord Rukkhadevata, died during the cataclysm five hundred years ago.
The Dendro nation is known as the city of scholars and the center of learning, where the Sumeru Akademiya can be found.
Requirements
To get to Sumeru, you must be at least Adventure Rank 35 and have completed Archon Quest – Chapter II: Act IV Requiem of the Echoing Depths.
You can enter The Chasm without completing the Archon and the story quests related to the mysterious mines. You do not even need to activate the Statue of the Seven and unlock the map of this part of Liyue.
Getting to the Region
To get to Sumeru, you must go to the westernmost part of The Chasm, which is the Cinnabar Cliff. It is the area south of the Statue of the Seven. You will find a Teleport Waypoint near an opening on the wall.
Go inside this opening and follow the path that leads to another area. On the other side of this tunnel is the rainforest side of Sumeru.
Note that this is the only way to unlock or get to Sumeru. If you try to get there via another route, like from Lumberprick Valley and through the mountains, you will be teleported back to the area that connects Liyue and Sumeru.
Main Quest Notes
Even if you get to Sumeru and unlock its entire map without doing the Main or Archon Quests, you will not be able to enjoy all the features, especially treasures and other rewards. Therefore, it is recommended to complete The Chasm quests for you to take on the Archon Quest Chapter III.
