Agents are a major part of the Valorant experience. Your hero can define your playstyle and your standing in the game. All the abilities, powers, and strategies you can use make every match different. And different agents can be better or worse in a given situation.
So, unlocking all the heroes is pretty important for a balanced playstyle. How can you do that?
The answer is quite simple and easy to learn, provided you follow our instructions. Make sure to read everything and avoid issues with unlocking new agents in the game.
Unlocking Valorant agents
Agents in Valorant are unlocked by getting XP. It’s pretty straightforward – you play the game, you unlock more operators. But the unlocking process may not be obvious at first glance. It works like this:
- Go into the Valorant Menu
- click on Collection,
- then on Agents.
- In the middle of the screen, you’ll see a green button that says Activate.
- Click on it.
Can you unlock more than 2 agents for free?
When first starting the game, you’ll have 2 free unlocks for operators. If you’re wondering which ones to choose, consult our guide on Valorant’s agents. We compiled a list of all the characters and the playstyles they are best suited for. The meta can change, of course, but this guide will give you a general idea of what each agent is all about.
After the two free agents, you’ll have to unlock further playable characters by going to the Agents menu, clicking on Activate. This will start a quest chain of unlocking said agents. On the upper left corner of the menu, you have two circles that show your progress. All you need to do to unlock the selected operator is play the game and earn more XP points.
Your performance in the game will determine how much XP you earn. If you want to be better at the game and earn more, make sure to communicate with your team, use your character’s ability in unison with others and employ strategy rather than mindlessly shooting at the enemy. At the same time, don’t forget to have fun and test out all the characters. Winning is great, but don’t just focus on victory at any cost – have fun and make Valorant a more worthwhile experience by being a cool person to play with, not just a frag machine.
