Lester asks Michael, Franklin, or Trevor to go and steal a Police Transporter in preparation for their biggest score.

GTA 5: Stingers Mission Guide (Gold Medal)

Stingers is a heist setup mission for GTA 5’s finale mission, The Big Score, and is triggered by selecting the Subtle Approach while Planning the Big Score mission in-game. The mission is given by Lester to any of the game’s three protagonists and involves stealing a Police Transporter from a car park in South Los Santos police station.

We have outlined everything you need to know about the Stingers mission and how you can get a Gold Medal for completing the mission in GTA 5.

Stingers Synopsis

After Michael, Franklin, Trevor, and Lester conclude their meeting at Vanilla Unicorn, either one of the protagonists the player is currently using will receive a text message from Lester. The text message informs Franklin//Michael/Trevor of an LSPD van containing spike strips they need for the big score.

Lester says the spike stripes the crew needs for the heist can be found in a van parked at the South Los Santos police station, and it is up to Franklin/Michael/Trevor to steal the van and deliver it to the target location unscathed.

Michael/Franklin/Trevor immediately drives to the South Los Santos police department, where Lester says the van is located. Upon arrival, Franklin/Michael/Trevor climbs over the wall and makes their way to the police department’s parking lot, where the van is parked.

Franklin/Michael/Trevor takes out the only officer guarding the area and drives the van out of the South Los Santos parking lot. With the van secured, Franklin/Michael/Trevor drives back to Vanilla Unicorn and parks the car in one of the empty lots at the back of the building.

Franklin/Michael/Trevor gives Lester a call to tell him the job is complete.

Stingers Mission Guide

Park your car right next to this wall at the police station. This is important as this is the only way to get inside the parking space without alerting the police.

Get on top of your car and use it to boost yourself over the wall.

Once you are inside, enter Stealth mode and keep a low profile. Take the first right and inch your way toward the police officer.

Knock him out with a stealth attack.

Get in the van and drive out of the parking lot through the gate.

Make your way back to Vanilla Unicorn.

Easier than Expected

Unlike other mission in GTA 5 that involves stealing a vehicle from enforcing bodies, Stingers is a much more straightforward mission where you can just knock the guard unconscious and take the van for yourself. In a way, the Stingers mission is similar to the Bugstars Equipment mission, where you need to steal a van and drive it back to a designated location to complete the mission.

Getting a Gold Medal from Stingers is very easy. As long as you follow the method we have laid down above, you will be in and out of the South Los Santos police department in less than two minutes. After which, drive back to Vanilla Unicorn as carefully as you can. Using Franklin’s special ability should help you avoid tight situations on the way back.
