Traveling across the ocean is cool, but have you ever gone underwater in GTA 5?
The Grand Theft Auto franchise has always given its fans a taste of what it is like to drive or pilot multiple types of vehicles in-game.
The game has its fair share of unique vehicles such as Helicopters, Tanks, Armored Vehicles, Jet-Skis, and many others. Players can take to the land, sea, and air anytime. However, there is one mode of transportation that the Grand Theft Auto franchise hasn’t explored until GTA 5 – underwater transportation.
GTA 5 and GTA Online combine to feature six sub-aquatic vehicles, but only two of which can be found in Grand Theft Auto 5 single-player – the Kraken and Submersible. We show you where you can find the former in this guide.
Kraken in GTA 5
The Kraken is a sub-aquatic vehicle that can be found in both Grand Theft Auto 5 and Grand Theft Auto Online. It is manufactured by Kraken Submersibles and is one of only two submersible vehicles in Grand Theft Auto 5 (the other one being the Kraken Submersible)
Visually, the Kraken looks very similar to the real-world submersible vehicle named TRITON 1000/3, with its single pilot main cabin covered in a bubble-type glass canopy. Two powerful propulsion units are flanking the Kraken’s Cockpit with embedded headlights on each side.
The Kraken is just one of two submersible vehicles in GTA 5, the other one being the Kraken Submersible, which is a slower version of the Kraken. Both submersibles can only dive to a depth of 500 feet before being crushed by water pressure.
Where to Find the Kraken in GTA 5
The Kraken can only be unlocked after the player completes the Wildlife Photography Challenge. After which, the Kraken will spawn at the Cape Catfish dock in the San Chianski Mountain Range.
After completing the Wildlife Photography Challenge, players can purchase the Kraken from DockTease for $1,325,000.
Alternatively, you can spawn the underwater vehicle by entering “BUBBLES” in the Cheat Console or by dialing 1-999-282-2537 on your phone in-game. (Only works after you’ve unlocked the vehicle by completing the Wildlife Photography Challenge.)

Release the Kraken
GTA 5’s entire land mass is covered by a large body of water that you can explore on board the Kraken. While there isn’t a lot happening underwater, there’s something unique about traveling in a submersible vehicle in GTA 5.
So, there we have it! We hope you can unlock and find the Kraken in-game so you can explore GTA 5’s enigmatic waters.
