In Pokemon Legends: Arceus, the player is urged to fulfill one of the franchise’s most iconic lines, “Gotta catch ‘em all,” as the player in the game will become part of the Galaxy Expedition Team (or just Galaxy Team) as part of the Survey Corps who are tasked to learn whatever they can about the Pokemon residing in the Hisui region, which is what the region was called before it was renamed to Sinnoh. The legendary Arceus will also give the player a mission to meet every Pokemon in Hisui.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus Ultimate Roselia Guide

This guide will discuss everything you need to know about Roselia in Pokemon Legends: Arceus!

Roselia

Roselia, the 90th Pokemon in the Hisuian Pokedex, is a Grass and Poison-type Thorn Pokemon that has a small, light green body, a spherical head with three green thorns on top of its head, a pair of small black eyes with long eyelashes, a small mouth, a yellow marking around its neck that looks like a collar which can be seen from its back, a green leaf on its shoulders that looks like shoulder pads, long green leaf with a yellow triangular marking in front of its body, a pair of arms with a blue rose as its left hand and a red rose as a right hand, and a pair of stubby legs.

According to its Pokedex entry in the game, Roselia has poisonous thorns despite its beautiful appearance. Also, it states an old tradition in a different region where a person would send Roselia thorns to an enemy to challenge them to a duel.

Basic Information

Roselia is a Grass and Poison-type Pokemon that is weak (super effective) to Fire-type, Flying-type, Ice-type, and Psychic-type moves and resistant (not very effective) to Electric-type, Fairy-type, Fighting-type, Water-type, and especially Grass-type moves.

Roselia’s base stats are 50 HP, 60 Attack, 45 Defense, 100 Special Attack, 80 Special Defense, and 65 Speed for a total of 400.

Roselia can be evolved from a Budew by leveling up during the daytime once it reaches a high Friendship Level. Roselia can then be evolved into a Roserade by using a Shiny Stone.

Friendship and Description

To increase a Pokemon’s Friendship Level, the player should keep the Pokemon in their party, use it in battle without letting it faint, and send it out to collect resources from trees and ores.

To check a Pokemon’s current Friendship Level, go to Belamy, the Friendship Checker, located a little south of the Pastures on the eastern side of Jubilife Village (Belamy is the man in blue clothes). However, the Friendship Checker is not immediately available in the game.

Complete the “Measuring Your Compatibility” Request (request 28) first to unlock the Friendship Checker. The player can then speak with Belamy and select which Pokemon’s Friendship Level they want to check. The actual Friendship Level is as follows, based on Belamy’s description:

Friendship LevelBelamy’s Description
Base Friendship“[Your Pokemon] seems leery of you yet. New to the team, perhaps?”
Low“I suppose [your Pokemon]’s become a bit friendly toward you, but you’ve a ways to go…”
Mid“[Your Pokemon] seems to get on well with you. But I’m sure it could get on better!”
High“You and [your Pokemon] seem to be fast friends. You must be quite good companions!”
Highest“What an excellent pair of friends you and [your Pokemon] make. You must mean a lot to each other!”

The player’s Budew should be on a high or Highest Friendship Level and leveled up during the daytime to evolve it to a Roselia.

Roselia enjoys Springy Mushrooms, Dazzling Honey, and Crunchy Salts, which, along with berries, can be thrown at a Roselia to feed it or distract it from catching or battling it unawares.

When a wild Roselia is captured or beaten, the player receives a Vivichoke and Hearty Grains.

Location

To find a Roselia, the player can head to the following locations:

In the Crimson Mirelands: in the northwest and southwest of Gapejaw Bog and Cloudpool Ridge.

In the Coronet Highlands: on the land part of the Fabled Spring.

Roselia can be found in the locations mentioned at all times of the day and in every weather condition.

In addition, there is a possibility that the player can find a Roselia in Massive Mass Outbreaks in the Crimson Mirelands.

Research Tasks

The following are the Research Tasks in Roselia’s Pokedex entry in Pokemon Legends: Arceus:

MultiplierResearch TaskObjectives
x2Number caught1/3/6/12/25
Number caught during daylight hours1/2/4/6/10
Number defeated1/3/6/12/25
x2Number you have defeated with Psychic type moves1/2/4/6/10
Times you have seen it use Poison Powder1/3/8/20/40
Number of different forms you have obtained2
x2Number evolved1/2/3

A Pokemon’s Pokedex entry must achieve Research Level 10 to be considered complete. When a Research Task objective is fulfilled, a Pokemon’s Pokedex entry’s Research Level increases by one level unless the Research Task objective has a multiplier of x2, in which case fulfilling one of its objectives grants two Research Levels rather than just one. Finishing Pokedex entries and Research Task objectives can earn the player Research Points, increasing the player’s Star Rank in the Galaxy Team if enough are accumulated.

To quickly complete Roselia’s Pokedex entry, the player can catch two Roselias during the daytime and then defeat three more, with at least two defeated using Psychic type moves. Doing these will tick the first objective of the “Number caught” Research Task to add two Research Levels thanks to its x2 multiplier, tick the first and second objectives of the “Number caught during daylight hours” Research Task to add two Research Levels, tick the first and second objective of the “Number defeated” Research task to add two more Research Levels, and tick the first and second objective of the “Number you have defeated with Psychic type moves” Research Task to gain four more Research Tasks thanks also to its x2 multiplier and ultimately reach Research Level 10.
