Sometimes in missions in Destiny 2, players get the infamous Honeydew error. This issue disheartens people from playing the game, as it can happen quite frequently.

However, what’s the reason for this bug, and why does it happen so often? Well, usually this bug can occur when Bungie, Destiny’s developers take a feature offline due to issues, or before an update.

Like I said, that’s the most frequent reason for why this bug might occur. But that is not to say that there are other things which might encourage this error to persist.

Things like bad connection, no connection to servers and similar. Thankfully, you can try a few things to fix the error code Honeydew in Destiny 2:

1. Switch Between Wi-Fi and Ethernet

  1. If you are using Wi-Fi, disconnect your system from it.
  2. Plug in an ethernet cable.
  3. See if this fixes the issue. Ethernet usually provides faster and more stable connection, but try vice versa too.

2. Hotspot

  1. Turn on a hotspot from a mobile device. Cellular data is sometimes faster than most home networking systems.
  2. Connect your system to the hotspot.
  3. Launch Destiny 2 and see if the issue still persists.

3. Use a VPN

  1. A common fix, which the community has found is to use a VPN. Download a free VPN suite from the internet.
  2. Set it up and select another server from a different region.
  3. Log into Destiny 2 and check whether or not you get the Honeydew error again.

Nonetheless, these fixes might work for some situations. But sometimes the problems usually occur on the other side of the spectrum, i.e. with the game itself.

Like I said before, Bungie usually takes out certain missions and game modes for maintenance or updates. Before trying anything, check whether the developers have announced an update or maintenance.

You can do so by going to the official BungieHelp twitter account. This is the place where they usually inform players about game status and similar matters.
