There are many exotics in Destiny 2. Usually, they can be obtained after the game’s content, i.e. in special hunts, raids, and quests. To be eligible to start the hunt for the Cloudstrike, you must’ve finished the main campaign.

Furthermore, I don’t want to be the bearer of bad news, but Cloudstrike’s drop is completely random, and there is no magic way of getting it immediately. However, I can show you how to get the Cloudstrike the most efficient way!

How to Get the Cloudstrike – Destiny 2

This weapon is pretty special. It’s pretty much overpowered for both PvE and PvP play. It charges a bolt of lightning then it releases it with an unparalleled precision.

It has the potential of wiping a few enemies out with one hit. Okay, enough with the sales pitch, let’s get down to real business.

To get the Cloudstrike, it must be obtained through Elective Difficulty Empire Hunts. But the main difficulty is unlocking those.

How to Unlock Elective Difficulty Empire Hunts

Before doing anything, you must finish the game’s main campaign! After that, go to Variks and get both the Old Secrets and New Challenges quests.

Then, you will probably do an Exo Challenge, and then you’ll need to find the Exo Stranger to get the “A Hard Rain Falls” quest in the Eclipsed Zones.

For that quest, you might need to do a couple of Patrols and Heroic Public Events.

IMORTANT: After doing all that, it’s time to finish the European Explorer 1 and 2 Sabotages from the one and only Variks. That will ultimately unlock the Elective Difficulty Empire Hunts, that can be purchased and replayed with Herealways Pieces.

The elective difficulty empire hunts aren’t anything special, there are a few bosses and enemies there, and you should get a couple of teammates.

But all in all, these adventures are pretty short, and you can skip most of the fights. The Cloudstrike exotic sniper can drop on any difficulty, so set it to the easiest one, so that you can do them fast back-to-back.

Also, don’t get discouraged if the weapon doesn’t drop after you defeat a boss or a foe. The Cloudstrike only drops at the end at the mission complete screen.

It will take you around 6-15 minutes to finish a hunt, but make sure to skip some of the fights to get these hunts done faster. You might expect to get the Cloudstrike in a couple of hours.
