One of the Shrines in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is the Sho Dantu Shrine or the Two Bombs. This shrine requires Link to navigate the shrine using Link’s Remote Bomb Rune abilities. The shrine may seem a little confusing, but you’ll learn how to complete the Sho Dantu shrine, get the chest, and claim the Spirit Orb in this guide.

Link will be rewarded with Spirit Orbs for completing Shrines. The Spirit Orbs obtained can be exchanged for more Heart Containers or Stamina Vessels. As there are a total of 120 Shrines all over Hyrule, Link will be able to get a total of 120 Spirit Orbs. You get to decide whether you want Link to have more Hearts or more Stamina.

Location

Link won’t be able to find and access the Sho Dantu Shrine immediately, but it will emerge from the ground just behind a cliff northwest of the Gerudo Tower (or can be found on top of the cliffs south of Meadela’s Mantle near the path on the way to the Yiga Clan Hideout).

Upon arriving in the area, you will see an Ancient platform and a pedestal surrounded by Luminous Stones. On the pedestal, there is an inscription that says:

“If you seek power untold, offer a shining blue stone.”

The shining blue stone that the inscription refers to is a Luminous Stone, so, for the Sho Dantu Shrine to appear, Link must place a Luminous Stone on top of the pedestal. If Link doesn’t have any Luminous Stones, he can take the Luminous Stones in the area, then press the + button to go to Link’s Inventory, select the Luminous Stone and press the A button; on the prompt, select Hold, press the B button to return to the game, aim at the Ancient platform, and press the A button again to drop the Luminous Stone.

After putting a Luminous Stone on the Ancient platform, the Sho Dantu Shrine will emerge from the ground!

The Sho Dantu Shrine is one of six shrines in the Gerudo Tower region.

Upon entering the Sho Dantu Shrine, Link will be in a small room with three entryways, one on the left, one on the right, and one up ahead. Up ahead and on the right, the entryway will be closed, but a couple of crates only block the entrance on the left. To complete this shrine, this is what Link must do:

  1. Go towards the entryway on the left, press the up directional button, select either of the Remote Bomb Rune abilities, press the L button to conjure one up, press the A button to place it near the crates, and press the L button again to detonate it (from a distance) and destroy the crates.
  2. Next, enter the next room, and you will see a platform that quickly rises then goes back down again, acting as a launcher, and behind it is a large pillar with a switch on top and two exploding barrels blocked by a gate. Press the L button again to conjure another Remote Bomb and place it on the launcher. After the launcher throws the Remote Bomb up and reaches the peak of the throw, press the L button again to detonate it and hit the switch. After successfully doing that, the closed gate on the opposite side of the previous room will be opened.
  3. Before proceeding to the next room, go behind the large pillar first, and you will see a chest. Open the chest to obtain a Silver Rupee (100 Rupees).
  4. After that, proceed to the next room (the entryway on the right side of the first room), and there you will see another platform that is supposed to be a launcher, but it is not moving yet, another large pillar with a switch on top and two exploding barrels that are blocked by a gate, and another switch behind the pillar. The launcher will only move once the switch on the back of the pillar is hit, and it will not go back down unless the switch is hit again. To solve this puzzle, make sure the launcher platform is in its original state (if it isn’t simple, hit the switch behind the pillar), go to the switch behind the pillar, press the L button to conjure a Remote Bomb, press the A button to set it down near the switch, go near the launcher, press the up directional button, select the other Remote Bomb Rune ability, press the L button again to conjure one up, and press the A button to set it down on the launcher.
  5. Next, press the up directional button again and select the Remote Bomb Rune ability that you put near the switch behind the pillar. Then, this next part must be done with the right timing: press the L button to detonate the Remote Bomb near the switch, which will cause the launcher to quickly rise and throw the other Remote Bomb up in the air. As the Remote Bomb is being thrown up high, quickly press the up directional button, select the other Remote Bomb Rune ability (the one thrown), and wait until the Remote Bomb reaches the peak of its throw. Once that happens, quickly press the L button again to detonate the Remote Bomb and hit the switch up on the pillar. After successfully doing that, the entryway at the north of the previous room will be opened.
  6. Head to the next part of the shrine, and there you will find a switch high up the north wall, angled launchers on both sides of the switch, two platforms near the entrance, and the entrance to the altar on the opposite side of the switch above the two platforms. Hitting the switch will cause the two platforms to rise and the entrance gate to the altar to close. Hitting it again will cause the two platforms to go back down and the gate of the entrance to the altar to open. To solve this puzzle, press the up directional button, select the cube Remote Bomb Rune ability, press the L button to conjure one up, bring it to one of the launchers on either side of the room, and, when its lowered, press A to set it down. After the launcher “throws” the cube Remote Bomb, it will land on the platform with the switch.
  7. Next, press the up directional button, select the spherical Remote Bomb Rune ability, press the L button to conjure one up, bring it to one of the launchers on either side of the room, and, when its lowered, press A to set it down. After the launcher “throws” the Remote Bomb, the spherical Remote Bomb will be passed to the launcher on the opposite side and will not land on the platform with the switch because of its lighter weight than the cube Remote Bomb. As long as you do not detonate it (or unless it won’t roll off the platforms), the spherical Remote Bomb will just be passed around by the launchers.
  8. After that, let Link stand on top of one of the two platforms near the entrance of the room, press the up directional button, select the spherical Remote Bomb ability, wait for the spherical Remote Bomb to be thrown midair, and go near the switch, and press the L button to detonate the spherical Remote Bomb and hit the switch. This will cause the two platforms to rise (with Link) and the gate to the altar to close.
  9. Then, let Link step off the platform, press the up directional button, select the cube Remote Bomb Rune ability, and press the L button to detonate it and hit the switch. This will now cause the two platforms to go back down to their original state and the gate to the altar to be opened.
  10. Finally, go near the altar, talk to the monk, and claim your Spirit Orb!

The Sho Dantu Shrine or the Two Bombs is one of six shrines in the Gerudo Tower region. The other shrines are the Sasa Kai Shrine or A Moderate Test of Strength, the Kuh Takkar Shrine or the Melting Ice Hazard, the Joloo Nah Shrine or the Joloo Nah Apparatus, the Kema Kosassa Shrine or A Major Test of Strength, and the Keeha Yoog Shrine or the Keeha Yoog’s Blessing.
