Trevor steals a mini-sub for the upcoming Merryweather heist.
Minisub is a heist setup mission for a major Heist mission in GTA 5 – The Merryweather Heist. In the Minisub mission, Trevor heads to the docks to steal a submersible. With the help of Floyd, the pair deliver the minisub to a nearby warehouse in the docks, which the crew will use for both the Offshore and Freighter approach in the Merryweather Heist.

Minisub Synopsis
Wade sends Trevor a text message telling him he’s found a submersible at the docks. When Trevor arrives at the docks, he finds it strapped to a boat called Daisy-Lee.
Trevor and Floyd load up the minisub into the back of a truck, and Trevor delivers it to a warehouse in the docks. Trevor can either shoot down the straps holding the minisub or enter the minisub and unlatch the straps from within. Either way, Trevor can release the sub into the ocean and pilot it back to Floyd, where he is waiting with a crane.
Minisub Gold Medal Objectives
- Time: Complete within 08:30
- No Boarding: Steal the submersible without boarding the boat.
- Shoot down the four connecting cables holding the minisub to the side of the ship.
All Gold Medal objectives for this mission can be completed through multiple replays. You can come back another time and replay the mission to get the rest of the Gold Medal objectives.
Minisub Mission Guide
Head to the eastern side of the docks at Elysian Island.
You can find the submersible hanging off the side of the large boat.
Aim for the cables and shoot them down. You must shoot down four cables to free the minisub from the crane.
Dive into the water and swim towards the submersible.
Bring the submersible to Floyd on the other side of the island. After completing the Merryweather heist, you can acquire the minisub again by purchasing the Sonar Collections Dock or stealing the minisub from the Sandy Shores Airfield.
Park the submersible in this yellow ring. Floyd will automatically pick up the minisub with his crane.
Drive the truck to the specified storage warehouse.
Get out of the truck and run towards the warehouse entrance to end the mission.
Kraken Submersible
Depending on the approach you choose to take when taking on the Merryweather heist, you might need to acquire a Cargobob as well. However, both approaches will require the minisub, as it is the only way to secure and transport the package safely to Franklin, Michael, and Trevor’s meetup spot after the mission.
The Minisub heist setup mission only requires you to finish the mission within 08:30. However, this is one of those missions where you will likely end up cutting it close to the time limit, as the travel time from the ship to Floyd and from the crane to the warehouse, is severely limited by the travel speed of both the minisub and the truck. On the other hand, opt to shoot down the minisub rather than board it to complete the No Boarding Gold Medal objective.
