Some biomes in Valheim are scary to say the least. One particularly stands out, and it is called the Ashlands biome. It is basically, a very hot environment that you will definitely need to explore, in order to get much of the resources that you will need later in the game. It is still in development, so keep that in mind, some of the things we know might change in the future of Valheim.
It is a place where you can get materials like surtling cores, surtling trophies, and ultimately flamental ores.
How to Get Flamental Ore – Valheim
In this area, you will need to be a bit careful. There will be a lot of little creatures on fire called Surtlings, and glowing metals are usually their nests.
The main reason why you should be careful is because you will need to mine glowing metals in order to get flamental ores in Valheim. Make sure that you’re ready for the Ashlands biome before going there, as it’s a biome that is intended for later content in the game.
As far as mining of this metal is concerned, you will need to have a metal pickaxe, most likely bronze or higher in order to mine for the flamental ore.
The Ashlands biome is the opposite of the snow biome as it is an ashy and flaming place. If you can’t find it, here is how it looks on the map:
Basically, everything that you see red on the map is the Ashlands biome. Now, every world is different in Valheim, so this isn’t an exact location for this biome, but it serves as a reference you can use to find it.
The future of the biome is not yet clear, particularly what is subject to change. At the time of writing, this is the place where you can get flamental ores, but that might change in the future.
There aren’t many players that have reached this stage of the game, so much of the information on this place is grim to say the least. However, you will need to go to it inevitably.
